Our Story

The topic animal food is a very important and controversial topic to say the least. It has been debated for years and no more intensely than at the present time as we are all concerned about our own health and that of our dearest family animal, friends and companions.

The pet food crisis that we all remember when dogs and cats were dying across the United States only to find out that a chemical called Melamine found in formica etal was added to the pet food for an obvious unscrupulous reason. During the same investigation the uncovering of many pet food brands at that time all containing identical ingredients but with different but enticing private label information was more evidence of false deceptive advertising.

Prior to the invention of conventional commercial dog food which also includes all commercial treats and dental sticks our carnivore pet's ancestors relied on their instincts and hunting skills to catch and eat a nutritious, natural, whole raw animal diet. Case in point, the great blue whale, the largest living mammal not relying on man for food, but living in the appropriate environment on the appropriate natural, nutritious diet could live more than 200 years.

It makes no difference whether we are talking about a 20 gram mouse (scientific name (Musculus) or a 200 ton great blue whale (scientific name Balenoptera Musculus) they all must receive the same nutrients by different means and in different amounts obviously to be able to reproduce, grow, regulate, repair and defend in order to carry on life.

The energy source required can only be derived from nutritious, safe food, spring water, clean air, sunlight and happiness daily.

Our commitment through TRUE LIFE DOG FOOD is to prepare in individual orders a real honest, nourishing and safe dog food that is carefully designed and prepared for those that consider their pets to be family.

Nutrition for our pets is in serious times when we purchase a product made for our pets and we do not know the real ingredients, where the food ingredients are from, what other ingredients are present that are not noted on the label and in some cases may even be harmful if eaten and last but not least the processing of the dog food itself. Remembering also pet foods found to be containing dead dogs and cats from ASPCA's around the USA that were euthanized, cremated and added to the pet food, as well as ground up chicken feathers added to the pet foods that were not labeled as such as well but labeled as chicken meal.

Our carnivore friends were created to eat another complete and healthy animal. Obviously this is in most cases impractical and it is our requirement and commitment to find an honest, healthy, safe and practical way to achieve the same healthy end result. Pet owners are getting more aware through the internet and faithful "watch dogs" that investigate and report pet food recalls as they are uncovered.

My name is Dr. Michael S. Tierney VMD, I was raised on a farm, and I have lived and devoted my entire life to all types of animals. I have carefully observed them in their natural environment and noted how they were designed to nourish themselves. I have lived my experiences and have practiced traditional and alternative/ holistic veterinary medicine upon my graduation from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1976. It is clear to me that prevention is preferred and the proper wholesome, nourishing and safe diet is the answer to achieving the genetic longevity for our beloved pets.

Actually my story could go on for a lot longer, but I believe your curiosity and continued search for the truth will find those answers as you navigate our website.
